MY VERY OWN PIECE OF HADLEY

I was of course sad to hear of  the passing of the late, great Albert Hadley, decorating icon.  However, the silver lining was the One Kings Lane sale of several of his original sketches.  I was lucky enough to snatch one up, and it absolutely makes me want to sketch a whole lot more for my own clients.  He has such a great, easy hand that conveys everything important and necessary in a room.  Mr. Hadley, thank you for all your talent and giving a needed injection of new inspiration to an aspiring designer.

THE MET DOES IT AGAIN

The Met really is great at selecting artists to create unique and highly evocative/appropriate installations for their summer rooftop installation.  While I did not have the pleasure of visiting the rooftop this year (yes, I do die a little inside when saying this), the installation called Cloud City by Tomas Saraceno does look wonderful as always.

Photos courtesy of the Met website (most of these are installation photos, but wow, pretty amazing stuff even before finished installed):

Ummm, love it.  What is better than one amazing view over Central Park, Upper East and West sides?  Many, many, many views all on one rooftop.  Forget the clouds, I love the greenery-framed architecture.  Love.

CHECK OUT UTAH STYLE THIS SEASON

It is always rewarding to be considered an expert of some sort in one's field, and I always enjoy contributing to design publications.  I was lucky enough to be included in Utah Style's Summer 2012 edition.  Please see my small part below, or see the entire issue on newstands or at their website.  Thanks Utah Style!
