PILLOW TALK
I was recently asked to contribute to a magazine article about 2016 fabric trends and had to think, look at some magazines and a little pinterest, and consider what my clients are asking for as well. I won't reveal my official findings quite yet, but I do think this little grouping from my own pillow collection tells the story fairly well. Love the mix of graphic black & white, traditional Oriental-inspired toile, and mid-century modern.

Little peek on site
I am so excited to see this amazing project coming together. Might not look like much yet, but this will be just stunning when it is complete! I am so lucky to have clients that have the sophistication and vision to embrace an ultra minimal house filled with amazing antique furniture. This is what I call a dream project!

IOWA ARCHITECTURAL FOUNDATION
I am happy to be a part of the Iowa Architectural Foundation, a great organization that promotes outreach and better understanding of architecture and design in Iowa.
I have volunteered my time when I could over the past year, and when they asked me to contribute a small piece of writing to their new website, I was excited to help out.
They asked only for a story or episode that revealed my interest in or love for architecture and design in some way. It was lots of fun to be given such an open platform.
So, here is my little ditty...

And please check out all the other 'Perspectives', they are all fascinating.

DESIGNER DAYS IN SLC
I am headed home after a successful and truly enjoyable week in Salt Lake City. I got a lot of work done, including shopping for antiques laden with character, fabulous fabrics, unique accessories, and even some very mod wallpapers.
I was able to coordinate a photo shoot for one of my recently completed projects, and met with some manufacturers and upholsterers.
I was also honored with an invitation to speak about interior design branding for the International Interior Design Association.
Oh, and met with some clients too!
I even managed to miss any active snowfall and just got to enjoy looking at it perfectly blanketing the mountains.
Now it is back to Des Moines and whatever winter weather may await...

FARMHOUSE CHIC IN THE MOUNTAINS
I am very excited to show off my latest completed project with Tall Pines Construction. I was lucky enough to be able to work with the amazing owners of this property selecting all the interior hard finishes, lighting and plumbing, as well as all furniture, bedding and accessories.
The clients wanted something different from the standard mountain or mountain modern look that has become so prevalent in and around Park City. As we developed the look, a clean, refined farmhouse look emerged, and we ran with it. And it just worked. The field and mountains surrounding the home set off the style perfectly.
It is always so rewarding to be involved in every aspect of a project, and also to see such a great finished product executed by an excellent, professional team of builders and craftsmen.
So, without further ado, here are a few of my favorite shots...

A quick work trip to Manhattan always breaths some new life into me, especially when it is a balmy 50 degrees on February 1st.
